This pages gathers links useful to those planning to attend the PDS4 training sessions.

Virtual Box

Virtual Box (VB) is the virtualization software available from Oracle for use on x86 machines. You will need to install the VB software itself, and then download the virtual machine ("VM" or "appliance") file created by the PDS engineering node to run inside the VB software. The VM is a virtual linux machine that has all the PDS4 tools and demo support files pre-installed and ready for use.

Without Virtual Box

If your hardware or OS is not supported by the VB software, the alternative is to install the bits and pieces yourself.

  • Choose the "EDITOR" (first) option and download the specific version for your system. (Avoid the "Other" option unless you know what you're doing - we haven't tested this option ourselves yet.)
  • If you haven't already requested a trial license, click on the link in the first sentence of the download page and request one while you're waiting.
  • Run the installation.
  • Check your email for the trial license.
  • Start up Oxygen, click on Help->Register and follow the instructions to install the license.
This is a Java-based tool, so one build fits all. Select your favorite download file format and download. General installation instructions are included in the package. Detailed instructions for installing and configuring can be found on the SBN PDS4 wiki:
